Four of the North East’s brightest hip-hop acts will descend on Woods Coffee in Tynemouth next Friday for FRESH, a brand new event looking to showcase what the NE hip-hop scene has to offer.
We’re taking a look at the artists set to perform and giving you a little taste of what they have to offer.
After releasing his debut solo album Stay Tuned earlier this month, the boy from Hackney is on fire. Enjoying radio play on BBC, an interview in local music mag NARC and recently dropping a new video for his single Smile For The Camera, it seems at the moment all Reali-T can do is win. The ‘conscious comedian’ of the NE hip-hop scene, T isn’t one to miss.
Eccentric, a bit mad and one hell of an MC. NATO is known for his infectious personality as well as his skill on the mic, with no one quite like him on the North East hip-hop scene right now. This unapologetically Geordie rapper brings with him a polished live performance that demands attention as soon as he takes the mic.
After recently dropping his mixtape Where Do We Go, J Smirk has been building his reputation in the North East hip-hop scene. Earning himself airplay across the UK, the future looks bright for this ambitious young artist. With an innovative, almost trap sound, J looks to break the mould when it comes to Geordie rappers.
Keep your eyes peeled for an interview with J Smirk, coming very soon.
If you’ve been on our website before you’ll have seen a lot of Kay recently, and for good reason. The 19 year old has achieved a lot in the North East hip-hop scene, dividing opinion with her American-esque style, supporting legendary hip-hop acts and more importantly making a name for herself as one of the best in the region.
