Sunderland is quickly becoming the hub of the North East’s growing hip-hip scene, boasting a multitude of upcoming artists as well as a strong stable of veterans. Jamie Lister AKA Listaa, is one of those up and comers – arguably he’s the brightest of the bunch.
Listaa’s 2017 mixtape, ‘PiSC3S‘, was undoubtedly a triumph; the project manages to deliver a sound that has clear mainstream/radio appeal without compromising on fast paced, local dialect laced lyricism.
So why is Listaa our Artist of the Week? Well, he dropped his first track of 2018 last week and it’s straight fire – grime banger ‘Wannabe‘ is one of the Wearside MC’s best efforts yet – if you don’t believe us, check it out below.
Hopefully ‘Wannabe’ is a sign of things to come from Listaa in 2018 – one look at the football results tells you that the people of Sunderland need to start looking elsewhere for entertainment…look no further…
