J-Smirk talks Newcastle International Film Festival Nomination

Hip-hop experimentalist J-Smirk has been nominated for an award at this year’s Newcastle International Film Festival.

Co-directed by J-Smirk and his good friend Caden Elliott, the “Go Back” music video originally dropped back in September 2017 and has now been recognised as one of the best short films to come out of the North East in the last year. We caught up with J to chat more about the film, his upcoming gig at 02 Academy Newcastle and what makes a ‘serious’ upcoming rapper.
