243 Newcastle DRILL

Newcastle Drill collective 243 have been turning heads in the North East over the last few months, and last week at the CHAT Trust Showcase @ O2 Academy they shut it down.

Drill is a sound that’s huge in the UK right now, due to acts like 67, Section Boyz and Harlem Spartans; 243 are looking to be the innovators of this sound in the North East, flying Angola flags in videos and rapping about ‘The Toon’, their unique sound blends Geordie and African tones to create an entirely individual take on UK Drill.

Their performance at the O2 Academy last week further proved that these guys are ones to watch; despite having limited experience performing live, the 243 boys took the night to another level with their energy and presence on the stage. Most of the crowd seemed to know their songs, which is a massive achievement for such a fledgling group performing at an event that isn’t their headline show – clearly 243 are making an impact in the North East, and with a little direction, it won’t be long until 243 take the entire UK by storm.
