One of the most respected names in North East hip-hop and grime, ‘Ashington Underdog’ Just B has further raised the bar for the region with his new JDZ media ‘SPITFIRE’ freestyle – earning him our ‘Artist of the Week’ title this week.
The significance of Just B’s freestyle is the potential amount of new eyes he’s bringing to our region’s bubbling hip-hop and grime scene. A fact that ‘B doesn’t shy away from in this freestyle, passionately stating “I rep Ashington, Newcastle, Sunderland / I rep Washington, Teesside, Northumberland / I represent everyone who is vulnerable, around here nobody’s living comfortable.”
As one half of Newcastle grime duo HB, along with fellow emcee H-Man, Just B has a lot going on as 2018 comes to a close, including a massive gig at World Headquarters and the release of HB’s brand new album ‘Overcast’. A potential album of the year contender (trust us, we’ve heard it), the nine-track project is fulled as much by emotion as it is by adrenaline, showcasing HB’s raw style at the peak of its power. Catch the pair perform and pick up the album on December 21st at Little Buildings, Newcastle.
