Middlesbrough’s hip-hop lone-wolf Jister is back after a two-year hiatus. Comeback track “Ode to The Day” is a slow, reflective haze filled with astute observations of the music industry. The easy-listening beat and lackadaisical yet inspired tone taken by Jister inspires imagery of him spitting these gems of knowledge in between long cigarette tokes, sporting blackout shades, on a balcony somewhere, as the early morning sunshine breaks through the clouds – at least… that’s the image we got… feels a tad strange reading it back.
