Single Review: “Obaa Tumtum” – GH Drill

GH DRILL

At RIDE Music we love hearing music like nothing we’ve heard before. And that’s why we were gassed when Ghanaian driller GH Drill‘s debut single “OBAA TUMTUM” arrived in our inbox.

Growing up in Peckham, GH Drill found success releasing music in Twi, a dialect of the Akan language and he’s quickly becoming the face of Ghanaian drill on the international stage. “OBAA TUMTUM” translates to ‘black beauty’ and being surrounded by black beauty is what inspired this smooth debut track from GH. The way he flows over the beat with his almost melodic dialect is like no drill track we’ve ever heard before.

Drill is quickly becoming the most talked about sub-genre of rap worldwide and GH is stepping up to ensure Ghana has a voice that can’t be ignored within the scene. We can’t wait to see what comes next from him.
