‘Face Your Fears’ is the ambitious new EP from Memphis, Tennessee trap rapper Saiint Pat.
This is Pat’s debut EP, so across the seven tracks the fresh faced spitter has went all out to show listeners the versatility and energy he can bring to the game.
The project consists mostly of freestyles and off the cuff hooks that have been crafted into tracks. Pat wanted to go with this loose style for his debut to capture some of that raw studio energy, bringing the listener an authentic slice of his Southern trap style rather than something over through or over planned. A risk no doubt, but it pays off when you hear how hard this entire EP goes without letting up once.
Pat sticks to a distinctly Southern trap style in delivery throughout the project, but he still manages to show diversity across a range of beat styles. “Got Sum Plan” stands out as it sees Pat tackle a Pop Smoke style drill beat. He kills it without compromising his style or copycatting. It might even be our favourite track off the entire EP!
Despite this being his first official release, Pat has been experimenting with creating music since he was 16. Back in the day he used to rap over beats he found on Soundcloud and YouTube with a $30 mic – a familiar story among young rap fans.
Now Pat has taken the next step in his journey, got to a level where he’s ready to announce his music to the world and ‘Face His Fears’. That’s a lot of what this EP addresses; stepping up, taking that leap and following your dream despite the risks.
‘Face Your Fears’ is a sublime slice of Southern trap from one of the most versatile new artists in the rap game. Saiint Pat is one to watch in 2021.
