Not one to play by the rule book, fast rising British rapper Marcel X has recently dropped not one, but two bangers with visuals together in one hard hitting package on PacmanTV.
The first of which is “Let It Rain”, a dark drill link up that sees Marcel X head stateside to collab with Stevie Crooks. Recorded in LA, California native Stevie provides the slick hook and Marcel X comes in with some cold bars over the skippy beat. Marcel spits with absolute venom on this one, his deep baritone delivery adding even more weight to the confrontational lyricism.
“All Black” sees get even realer, inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement and the disgraceful killing of George Floyd. Talking on his own experiences with racist police in the UK, Marcel pleads with parents to raise their children better and “stop praising hatred”. One of the most powerful and best written tracks we’ve heard all year, “All Back” is a sonic act of defiance that’s simply a must listen.
“Let It Rain” and “All Black” are two of the coldest tracks we’ve heard all year. Marcel X is as real as it gets and his music reflects that. It’s gritty, honest and 100% authentic. He’s planning on dropping his first mixtape this December and we can’t wait to hear what he comes with on that one.
