Is emo rap slowly dying? Fading away from everyones consciousness after its peak a few years ago? Maybe… but Sevnth Heavn is here to reinvigorate the genre with his fresh take on alternative hip-hop that’s exciting as well as mature.
Having just dropped his sophomore album ‘This Is Us Vol.II’, Sevnth Heavn is riding high as one of the most talked about rising artists in the underground music scene. The 16 track project is a diverse offering filled with slickly produced tracks that mix hip-hop, trap, rock, emo and more.
Our favourite cut from the album has to be “These Days” – a catchy melodic banger that get stuck in your head after just one listen. It may sound like a cliché but Sevnth really does sound like vintage Lil Peep on this track. Just the way he delivers the vocals across the trappy beat. The song really wouldn’t feel out of place on a Peep track list. The melody is also very Blink 182 in the way it flows with Sevnth’s pop-punk style delivery.
Sevnth Heavn is bringing something fresh to the alternative rap genre. He’s brining emo rap back from the dead with a measured finesse. ‘This Is Us Vol.II’ is an essential album for fans of the genre.
