Montreal native Fly Jordy has just released a new track featuring Sky DBLR and it’s a straight-up banger. We’ve had “8:01” on repeat since it dropped!
For fans of the Canadian king Drake, this melodic rap banger from Fly Jordy is honestly as slick as they come. The vocals from both him and Sky DBLR are so wavy and delivered with expert finesse.
The track was inspired by the curfews that were implemented across Canada during the pandemic, meaning that you couldn’t be out in public after 8pm, hence the track being called “8:01”. It’s something we can all relate to in one way or another, that loneliness and the difficulty to maintain good relationships over countless lockdowns and government restrictions.
Fly has been able to incorporate these relatable lyrics into such a catchy song in a way that it doesn’t feel too preachy or too pandemic focused. The last thing we all want is to hear more tracks banging on about the pandemic. This track fully isn’t that, it’s subtle and relatable.
Fly Jordy could be the next big thing to come out of Canada. This new track “8:01” is absolute melodic rap bliss, we can’t wait to hear more from this rising star!
