Taken from his recent mixtape ‘Duct Tape‘, East London rapper Rags has released the official video for his cold new track Lately.
Going for an emotional vibe from off-set, Lately is framed as a representation of the current mindset of Rags who, like so many, has gone through tough changes over the pandemic period. Touching on topics like depression and drug use, Lately sees Rags learn from past mistakes, and try to pass these lessons on to the people around him.
Employing some smooth melodic vocals, sounding very Young Adz-like, Rags makes you really feel this one. It’s laidback but the lyrics are still hard hitting and filled with anguish. This is a track you’ve got to spin a few times to really deep it all. Lately feels like a custom made track to get lit to, smoke up, pour a drink and lose yourself in the vibe.
Lately is a big smoke-out vibe and one of Rags’ hardest tracks to date. He’s one of the most unique artists making a name for themselves out of East London now and someone that’s due to make a huge splash in the scene very soon!
