Talk about coming out of the gates with a bang, debut single Last Call from Washington D.C spitter Gray has been making waves in the underground rap scene this year.
Having almost amassed 100K streams already, we’re a bit late to the party on this one. Having been inspired by music as child, listening to the traditional go-go bands in his city and classic Motown hits, Gray always knew he’d end up working in the entertainment industry. Music is just one of his creative outlets that he’s decided to explore with more seriousness in recent years.
And we are so glad he did, because Last Call is an absolute banger. Coming with those old school meets new school trap vibes, Last Call is swaggerly catchy.
Coming with bags of punchlines from the off, Gray goes off on this uber cool beat. The craziest thing is, Gray makes it all sound easy. He sounds so laidback in the booth. Gray has managed to recreate that classic cool feeling that’s so sorely missing in a lot of modern hip-hop music. It’s hard to put it into words, because it’s a vibe that you’ve either got or you haven’t. And Gray well and truly has it.
Last Call is one of the strongest debut tracks we’ve heard all year, Gray is bringing that classic cool back to hip-hop and he’s one that needs to be watched in 2022!
