Album Review: ‘Magic Kite’ – Tyler Burgee

It’s debut album time! We’re taking a look at the brand new project Magic Kite, from promising 19-year-old artist Tyler Burgee!

The lean eight track, fully self produced album kicks off with Wrong Direction! This grungy alternative rock meets hip-hop opener sets the melancholic tone for the rest of this super immersive album.

Black Onyx takes the tempo down slightly, the beat inviting you to float away on a dark black cloud and fall further into this moody project.

Ghosts Get Lonely is one of the true highlights of this super impressive debut album. Tyler’s soft vocals guide you over a hard hitting but understated trap beat. You can really feel the alternative rock influences bleeding through in this track, once again bringing super grungy tones and emotion filled lyrics to the forefront.

The final track and undoubtable highlight comes in the form of Eyestick, a floaty, upbeat guitar led lo-fi rap banger. Tyler really has a way with words and his lyrics shine through on this one, ending the album in the most poetic way possible.

Magic Kite is an incredibly impressive debut album from rising star Tyler Burgee that marks hm as an artist to watch in 2022 – don’t sleep on this one!
