If you haven’t heard of KING LOCUS, where have you been? This alternative rock artist is quickly becoming the toast of the underground Soundcloud scene, with his brand new collab with STXR, Left On Read, has already racked up over half a million streams!
The Maryland native goes hard on this one, opening up with a neck braking speed riff that transitions into LOCUS’ super distinctive effected-vocals. The way LOCUS inflects that classic pop-punk melody into his vocals is so infectious, pair that with an incredibly catchy hook and you’ve got a recipe for a massive track.
The lyrics are dripping with angst and the trappings of a toxic relationship that I’m sure a lot of us can relate to. LOCUS has this great way of keeping the track simple enough to lose your self in whilst still pushing genre boundaries and taking a completely unique swipe at the genre.
