You should remember exciting Canadian prospect Patrik Kabongo from when we first covered him back in 2021. Fast forward a year and Patrik is going as hard as ever. His new single “Limelight” is some of his best work to-date.
As far as we’re concerned Patrik is one of the most dynamic rappers in the game right now when it comes to his vocal delivery. From precision bars to out of the pocket skippy flows and on to ice cold melodies, Patrik can simply do it all.
Patrik’s flow evokes comparisons to some of the best ‘real’ rappers still doing it. He’s got Kendrick’s story-telling and dynamism, Joey Bada$$’ melody and passion, and Drake’s ear for a catchy hook. And when he puts his own spin on all of these elements of greatness, like on “Limelight”, he truly shows he’s the full package.
“Limelight” deserves to be an instant inclusion in anyone’s rap playlist, it’s just top tier. Put this next to any top rapper’s single and Patrik is gonna come out looking on their level or better, that’s a fact.
Patrik Kabongo has the potential to be one of the best in the rap game. “Limelight” is a special single that really encapsulates all the best parts of Patrik’s elevated rap style. Patrik is making conscious rap cool. You can’t afford to sleep on this guy!
