EP Review: ‘ICANTHEARYOU!’ – FRD

FDR

Preaching a message of self-acceptance, ICANTHEARYOU! is the mesmerising debut project from fast rising Bournemouth LoFi Hip Hop artist FRD.

For fans of Loyle Carner and Mac Miller, FRD delivers thought provoking lyricism with a laid-back flow. Cooked up during lockdown, the time allowed FRD to reflect and ultimately it provided the inspiration for this dynamic project.

FRD wrote and recorded this album all from his bedroom, collaborating exclusively with producers he met online.

Speaking on his debut, FRD explains “The overall message of the project is self-acceptance; everyone has doubts, worries, and insecurities. They’re what makes us human.”

In the end, FRD wants you to leave smiling after listening to his six track project, it’s positive vibes through and through.

From the piano-led Out of Place to the funky vibes of Mind to It, each track is it’s own story that bursts with personality. You can tell FRD is an artist carving out his own lane. From beat selection to delivery, there’s something unique about FRD’s style.

ICANTHEARYOU! is a an incredibly dynamic first outing from Bournemouth spitter FRD. Story telling, a laidback flow and unique delivery, FRD is an artist bringing something different to the scene and this project proves he’s someone worth listening to.
