Single Review: “Touché Coulé” – Mikano

Mikano

Fast rising French spitter Mikano is back again with huge single Touché Coulé, taken from his brand new EP AKWA II.

Inspired by the likes of Frank Ocean, Blood Orange and Kid Cudi, Mikano has carved out his own take on that irresistibly smooth flow that makes these artists stand out. Touché Coulé is like hot chocolate for your ear drums!

The Parisian rapper brings with him an effortlessly cool aura on this track; the whole cut is just such an easy listen and feels so slick. There’s a finesse that Mikano brings to his delivery as he employs subtle uses of melody into his bars so that they really get your head moving.

The hook is beautifully catchy too and just demands that you stick this one on repeat. Mikano just makes it all seem so easy and that laidback attitude really comes through on the track making it such a vibe to listen to.

Sometimes artists on the come up are guilty of trying to hard to get themselves noticed. They go over the top with weird vocal modulations, crazy beats and weird samples. “Packing 10lbs of s**t into a 5lbs bag” as Americans would say. But Mikano is the total opposite on this track. He’s got the sonic measurements perfect so to speak. There’s a confidence there, Mikano knows he’s got talent and he knows exactly how to showcase that talent in the most ear pleasing way possible!

Touché Coulé is laidback rap perfection. Mikano delivers one of his slickest tracks to date to usher in his brand new AKWA II EP. If this single is anything to go by then this project is going to be an absolute treat for rap fans worldwide! Don’t sleep on Mikano!
